ABOUT ME
Koolamalsi! My name is Sarah and I am a member of the Eelunaapeewi Lahkeewiit or the Delaware Nation of the Thames First Nation in Southwestern Ontario.
My experiences range from President of an Indigenous Charitable Organization to managing multi-million dollar Federal Grants to management in the public and not-for-profit sectors.
I value lifelong learning and most recently have completed training in the following areas:
-
Psychological First Aid
-
Incident Management System Certification (relating to crisis management)
-
Brief Focused Counselling Skills (focusing on Crisis in Indigenous Communities)
-
Animal Assisted Therapy Diploma
My childhood was spent on and off of my Reservation mainly with my mother, my grandmother - a residential school survivor - and my great grandmother who spoke only our Lenape Language. A childhood full of strong Indigenous women has had the greatest influence on both my home and work.
